Been to Carnaby Street lately?  Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's full of tourists, but it's also full of clothes shops (I've probably got the girls' attention now) and true to its heritage, one of the original independent 1960's stores, Merc, is offering you free live music over the next 8 weeks at 6pm every other Friday.  Two of the bands have their feet firmly planted in the 60's: The Draytones have a real old school mod sound (The Small Faces/The Kinks), but they do it so well, and Little Barrie are more blues/rock (think Traffic/Cream or a gentle Wolfmother if you have no idea who they are).  The third band, Patch William, have just had one of their songs nominated for an Ivor (probably the last time you'll see them for free (!)), and 12 Dirty Bullets finish the series of gigs with anthemic songs that have the indie of the nineties at their heart (Oasis fans, draw near).  So there you go... shop, drink, listen, go out, pull, etc.
