Vigorously peddling their own brand of power pop to a sold out 100 Club a couple of weeks ago, and with a musical imagination that harks back to the unfettered days of early Elton, 10CC, ELO and XTC, Jackdaw4 have just released "Retrospectacles", a double album package on CD, coloured vinyl and digital formats. It comprises two previous albums, "Gramaphone Logic" and "Bipolar Diversions'', plus four previously unreleased bonus tracks (available from their site).  The band is the creation of Willie Dowling, and though you may not know the name, you will probably have heard the music as it is frequently included in films, TV and adverts (following the aforementioned gig and by popular demand, they have just made available "Beautiful Game" from the BBC2 kids' football documentary "The Cup").   Fans can look forward to a new album in the Summer, "The Eternal Struggle For Justice", which will no doubt bring Jackdaw4 to the larger audience they deserve.
